What is VanDerWaals?
VanDerWaals makes smart handbags that connect to your phone and allow you to pick what color you are in the mood for carrying.
How does the VanDerWaals handbag work?
We have crafted a fashion and technology perfectly fused handbag that goes with any outfit and charges any phone. Each VanDerWaals handbag is programmable through a VanDerWaals free app that allows a fashionista to match her dress one minute and her shoes the next by selecting her favorite shade or taking a picture to match the exact color of her outfit. The handbag can also be programed to flash a custom lightshow synchronized to a favorite song or make a recommendation for a lucky color based on the user’s birthdate. The bags are also programmable to flash a selected color when the user receives a phone call. No more digging through your bag to hear if your phone is ringing.
In addition to light up and color changing capabilities, VanDerWaals handbags are also able to charge a smart phone, tablet or other portable device. Through an invisible long-lasting internal battery, users can plug the included charging cable or micro USB into their device. The internal battery power can be replenished using the provided wall charger.
What kind of warranty do you provide?
All VanDerWaals come with a 6 months limited warranty. Your warranty cannot be assigned or transferred to any subsequent purchaser or user. Our warranty policy warrants our products against defects in materials and workmanship under normal use.
Is VanDerWaals patented?
VanDerWaals’s technologies are patent pending.

What phone platforms and devices are supported?
Currently, VanDerWaals supports both iOS and Android systems.

Where can I get the VanDerWaals app?
Will VanDerWaals work without a phone?
VanDerWaals will also work with supported tablets, but without a phone or tablet, VanDerWaals is a stylish handbag that enable you stay plugged into your busy lives!
How to choose a charging cable?
Currently, VanDerWaals supports devices with Lightning connector and micro USB connector.

VanDerWaals currently does not support devices with USB C connector.
How much battery life will I get on my phone?
VanDerwaals handbag will charge your phone from zero to 100% at 1.5-4 times, depending on the smartphone model and VanDerWaals styles. This should provide smartphone use for at least 48 hours.
How do I set up my VanDerWaals?
Simply open the VanDerWaals app, click connect and confirm the pairing. Please see our setup guide at van-der-waals/setup for more details.
What is the range of communication between VanDerWaals and my mobile device?
It depends on a number of factors, but on average VanDerWaals will work 50-100 feet or more from your phone.
How does VanDerWaals handbag be recharged?
Your VanDerWaals handbag comes in its very own VanDerWaals charging pad. The green LED on the VanDerWaals charging pad light up as plugged into the wall charger. Move the charging pad close to the back of the handbag. The pad is automatically aligned to the handbag and starts recharging
A blue LED light means fast recharging mode or a red LED light means stable charging mode. VanDerWaals handbag takes 2-5 hours to fully charge depending on the styles.
How long does the battery last?
Depending on usage, your VanDerWaals should last 12–48 hours before needing to be recharged.
Can the battery be replaced?
The battery in your VanDerWaals handbag is not replaceable, but the charger pad can be replaced if you are encountering difficulties with charging.
Can the handbag functionality be updated after I receive it?
Yes, both the handbag and the app will be updated periodically with additional features and improvements.
PAYMENT, SHIPPING RETURNS AND EXCHANGES
I don’t have a credit card. Do you accept debit cards or PayPal?
Currently we accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover. We don’t accept other payment types online at this time, but please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org if you cannot pay with a credit card.
Can I update my shipping address later?
Please contact email@example.com with your confirmation number if you need to change your shipping address before your handbag ships.
How safe is your payment platform? Do you store credit card details?
Extremely secure. All transactions are encrypted with 128-bit SSL.
I did not receive a confirmation email after I’ve placed my order. Did my order get through?
Please wait up to an hour for the order to be processed and please check your spam folder. Confirmation emails will come from firstname.lastname@example.org. If you need more help, please email email@example.com and please provide:
1. the email address you used to make the order
2. the date and time of your order
3. the type of handbag(s) you ordered
I keep seeing ‘payment error’ when I try to make payment. What’s wrong?
Payment errors happen for a variety of reasons. If you need more help, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
For US customers, what is the sales tax and shipping cost?
We offer free shipping in the United States. Sales tax is applied when applicable.
Do you ship internationally?
We ship to most countries internationally. However, the recipient is responsible for any additional taxes and/or duties on delivery.
I don’t see my country listed in your checkout?
If you do not see your country listed, then we unfortunately do not currently support shipping to your country. Please check back as we hope to add more countries in the future.
When will my order ship?
Here’s how it works: you order, we process, then we ship.
Processing can take 7 to 10 business days and orders placed after 11am ET are processed the next business day. Standard shipping is handled by UPS ground. You’ll get an email with a tracking number when your package ships.
Return and exchange policy
All sales are final. We will not offer any refunds for this purchase. If for any reason you are dissatisfied with the Product you may return the Product to us for an exchange or store credit. You have up to 7 working days following the date you receive the Products to notify us of your wish to return the Products for an exchange or store credit. You are responsible for returning the Products as soon as possible and at your own cost. The invoice must be enclosed with the Products when returned. You must take reasonable care of the items that you wish to return, and we require that the Products be returned in the original packaging, in “new condition,” undamaged and complete (with all component products, parts, accessories, guarantee cards, manuals and other documents and items). We recommend that you insure the Products.
If you return Products which have been damaged or used, or parts of which, including component products, parts, accessories, packaging, manuals and other documents and/or other items are damaged or missing, we retain the right either to refuse the return of the Product, grant only partial store credit or to charge you repair, restocking or related fees and delivery charges. If we reject the returned Products, the Products will be returned to you at your expense.
When we received your returned item, we will send you a notification e-mail.
When you return or exchange your item, you must cover the shipping charges. We do not refund shipping charges, unless the return is due to a mistake on our behalf. If you receive a refund, the cost of return shipping will be deducted from your refund.
We are not responsible for any lost item during the returned shipping so we advice you to use a tracking service at any time.
The financial refund transaction will take place only after the returned goods have been received and undergone a quality control check. A store credit will automatically be applied to your original method of payment.
